The classic, slowed to our pace. Two nights in Cairo, the Plateau before the world wakes, a curator’s hour among the gold, dinner high above the city. A privately arranged transfer south, and then the point of it all: five nights aboard Nujbia, sailing from Esna to Aswan. Karnak at opening time and Philae by boat and between them, days of sail, sleep and river.
