Ramla, North Coast

Mariolino began as a restaurant in Batroun and became a way of spending a day: long lunches, late starts, negronis, the sea doing most of the work. Mario Jr. Haddad took it to Bodrum, and in the summer of 2026 to Ras El Hekma, on 400 acres of new shoreline at Ramla by Marakez. The beach house is small and sand-toned, designed by TDF+ and furnished by Cassa, laid out so the breeze can move through it and every room faces the Mediterranean — linen, pale wood, nothing polished into anonymity. There is no lobby, only a living room; no buffet, only an open-air kitchen where you make your own eggs or find Mario making them. Wednesdays put a hundred and twenty people at one table with their feet in the sand and seafood arriving until it stops. Thursdays, visiting chefs cook in front of you.

It is seasonal, and the season is short. The North Coast operates roughly half the year, and Mariolino with it. There is no winter stay to be had here, and the good weeks sell early — we book Ras El Hekma well ahead of the season rather than into it.

The clock is not the one you are used to. Lunch happens after the beach, not before; dinner is late, and later still on the nights that matter. Arriving with European mealtimes in mind is the single most reliable way to be disappointed. Adjust for a day and the rest follows.
